During the welcome days, and throughout the course, there will be different outings within the program ‘Visiting Madrid and its surroundings’, you will be able to enjoy the ‘Museum Route’, and get to know and enjoy the gastronomy.
In the first week of your arrival there will be different cultural and touristic activities in Madrid, so we recommend you to participate in them. You will be informed about the programs during the Welcome Session.
If you’re coming to study at Rey Juan Carlos University next semester and you want someone to help you around Madrid, sign up for the Buddy Program! You’ll get a Spanish buddy who will help you with whatever you need and show you around the city. Make new friends and learn about our culture in the best way possible!
The price also includes: weekly cleaning, sheets and towels changed once a week, high speed Wifi in rooms and all rooms of the residence, individual heating and cooling, etc.

Destino erasmus
Nuestro programa en España está ubicado en el campus de la Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (UC3M), en el barrio madrileño de Getafe (a 20 minutos en tren de cercanías del centro de la ciudad). Fundada en 1989, la Carlos III es una universidad relativamente pequeña (14.000 estudiantes) con un profesorado excepcional y unas instalaciones excepcionales. Los participantes en el VWM están matriculados como estudiantes regulares de la UC3M y disfrutan de todos los privilegios que se conceden a sus homólogos españoles.
Estas actividades culturales y deportivas extracurriculares son una excelente manera de conocer a estudiantes españoles y otros estudiantes internacionales de toda Europa y de mejorar tu dominio del idioma y conocer la cultura de una manera más informal que a través de las clases.

Cuando elegí hacer mi Erasmus en Granada, nunca esperé vivir una experiencia tan emocionante.Granada fue mi primera elección porque me inspiraron su cultura y su historia.Cuando llegué a la ciudad, lo primero que vi fue la Catedral y el barrio del Realejo: al principio no tenía casa, solo una estancia de dos días en un hostal, pero no fue muy difícil encontrar un bonito apartamento en el centro de la ciudad.

Erasmus student
Finally, the long awaited day arrived, I was so stressed that I forgot my phone charger. My flight was scheduled for Friday, September 16 at 4 am. We arrived with my family 3 hours before the flight time. I checked my luggage and even asked the agent at the counter to give me a seat by the window because I wanted to look out at the scenery. At the end of the boarding time, I said goodbye to my family and went to sit in the lounge waiting for boarding. After a few minutes of waiting, the airport agents began to make the siege order call.
Everyone had boarded the plane and we were ready for takeoff. Once again I was seduced and amazed by the spectacle of the take-off, it was simply beautiful and at the same time terrifying for me since I had never flown before.
To my surprise, there was a policewoman who approached me telling me that the station closes at one o’clock and that I had to leave the premises. Actually, it was at this moment that I realized the seriousness of the problem. Then, I had to rent a hotel where I would spend the night but I had no more money.
